Alfred Greco

World War II Veteran
 

Alfred Greco, 81, of Fairfield Township died Sunday morning January 11, 2004, at S.J. Hospital - Bridgeton. He had been in declining health for several months and a periodic hospital patient.

Mr. Greco was born in Carmel and was the son of the late Leonard and Anna Melita Greco. He had been a resident of Fairfield Township since 1952 and was a lifelong Bridgeton area resident. He was the husband of Doris Feaster Greco.

A US Army Veteran of World War II, he served in the 354 Infantry Regiment in Central Europe and Rhineland. Mr. Greco worked as a pressman at the former Price Brothers Lithograph Company in Bridgeton for thirty-eight years until the plant closed in 1975.

He enjoyed working in his garden.

In addition to his wife of fifty-four years, he is survived by one son, John S. Greco and his wife Liz of Fairfield Township, one grandson, Steven Greco of Fairfield Township and one brother, Morris Greco and his wife Jane of Stow Creek Township. He was preceded in death by a sister, Millie Trollo and two brothers, Joseph Greco and Sam Greco.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning January 15th at 11 o'clock at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton.

Pastor Ronald C. Dixon of the Pearl Street Baptist Church will officiate.

The interment will be made at Old Stone Church Cemetery in Fairfield Township.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday morning one hour prior to the services.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Pearl Street Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 139 N. Pearl St., Bridgeton, N.J. 08302.
