Neil S. Everingham
Neil S. Everingham, 80, of Bridgeton died Saturday morning July 27, 2013 at SJ Extended Care in Bridgeton where he had been a patient since March.
Neil was born in Bridgeton and was the son of the late Warren and Arbutus Kump Everingham. He was a lifetime resident of Bridgeton who formerly lived in the "high rise."
He worked at Seabrook Farms and had been a bartender at the Moose Lodge in Bridgeton. Most recently Neil was employed by the Green Thumb program and worked at the soup kitchen for the St. Vincent dePaul Society at the St. Teresa of Avila Church. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose. He also was a devoted member of the South Jersey Healthcare's Senior Center where he was recognized as being a champion on the Wii game system.
Neil is survived by a son, Wayne Simonds, four grandchildren and one great grandchild, two sisters, Beatrice Morris and Ethel Everingham and several nieces and nephews, including Steven and Darlene Morris.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Warren Everingham and sisters, Naomi Billings, Libby Hemple and Florence Durham.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday morning July 31st at 11 o’clock at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton where friends will be received from 10 until 11.
The burial will follow the service and take place at Broad Street Cemetery in Bridgeton.
