Patricia Lee Morris (nee Lawless)

Patricia Lee Morris (nee Lawless), of Upper Deerfield Township and formerly of Bridgeton, passed away on Thursday July 15, 2010 surrounded by her children and grandchildren at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at the Bridgeton Health Center after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

The wife of the late L. William Morris, former Superintendent of the Upper Deerfield Township Schools and a former Bridgeton City Councilman, she was mother of Pamela (Martin) Teller, William (Diana) Morris, Cynthia (Michael) Fisher, Kelly (Bobby) Sawyers and Stephen R. Morris. She was also the "Gammy" to Matthew Michael Fisher, Esq., Brooke Leigh and Charles "Chad" Tyler Fisher and Martin William Teller.

She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and "Gammy." Her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren. Upon seeing her grandchildren for the last time prior to her passing, she stated with joy: "You take my breath away!" Ironically and unknown to her was a beautiful quote recently hand painted on the wall outside of her room at the Hospice Inpatient Unit: "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away."

At Patricia's request private services will be held at the convenience of family.

She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Patricia's memory to SJ Health Care - HospiceCare, PO Box 160, Bridgeton, NJ 08302 or to the Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 N. Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Freitag Funeral Home in Bridgeton.
