Maria Luisa Rivera, 45, of Bridgeton went home to be with the Lord Thursday afternoon February 4, 2010 surrounded by her family at the South Jersey Regional Medical Center in Vineland.

Born in Manhattan, she was the daughter of Efrain Rivera and Maria Teresa Rivera (nee Mendez) both of Bridgeton. She was a graduate of the Vineland Training School now known as ELWYN. She will be remembered for her love of family and friends, especially her sister and caretaker, Jeanette. She loved to smile and take pictures as well as visit with family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the Nickelodeon Channel.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by five siblings, Raquel Rodriguez of Bridgeton, Jim "Chico" Rivera of Sicklerville, Vernell "Penny" Rivera-Algarin and her husband Angelo of Bridgeton, Jeanette Rivera of Bridgeton and David Rivera of Bridgeton, four aunts, one uncle, 13 nieces and nephews and 26 great nieces and great nephews.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday morning February 10th at 11 o'clock at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton with Rev. Dionisio Nunez of the Iglesia Pentecostal Rosa de Saron officiating.

The interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday between 10 and 11 A.M.
