Doris G. Sayres (nee Fletcher)

Doris G. Sayres (nee Fletcher), 80, of Deerfield Township died unexpectedly at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden on Sunday January 10, 2010 where she had been a hospital patient for three days.

Mrs. Sayres was born in Philadelphia on October 11, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Fletcher. She and her husband, Charles Sayres, had been married for the past 41 years. A resident of Deerfield Township for many years, Mrs. Sayres was employed most recently at Terrigno's Delicatessen for 13 years.

She formerly attended the Rosenhayn United Methodist Church.

When her health allowed she enjoyed trips to the Atlantic City Casinos and she also liked to play poker. She was also a bowler in the bowling leagues at Pike Lanes.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Lynn Kwap (Robert) of Upper Deerfield Twp., Charles T. Sayres (Kathy) of Shiloh, Ralph Crause Jr. of Front Royal, VA, Ronald "Sonny" Sayres of Georgetown, DE and Cynthia Sayres Parsons of Bridgeton, ten grandchildren, Kenny, Joseph, Christopher, Amanda, Nicholas Andrew, Chuckie, Nicole, Logan and Seth and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Casto, a grandson, Sean and two brothers, Joseph and Raymond Fletcher.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Sayres' funeral service at The Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Thursday morning January 14th at 11 o'clock where friends will be received from 10 until 11.

Pastor Linwood Sharp of the Rosenhayn United Methodist Church will officiate.

The burial will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp.
