Upon returning to Bridgeton he resumed his career at the Owens-Illinois Glass Company serving as a crew leader and later chief crew leader in the corrugated department. He later traveled to other Owens' plants and worked as a warehouse auditor before retiring. His career with Owens-Illinois spanned forty-seven years.

A longtime member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Mr. Hamidy was baptized in the church, attended Immaculate Conception Regional School and received his first Holy Communion at the church.

He was also a recipient of the NJ Distinguished Service Medal and was a member of the American Leagion, Shoemaker Post #95 and the Meade-Woodward Post #1795, VFW, both in Bridgeton.

He was a devoted Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed, when his health allowed, meticulously caring for his yard.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, James M. Hamidy Sr. and his companion Patricia Fulton of Vineland, three grandchildren; grandson, James M. Hamidy Jr. and his girlfriend Lauren and granddaughters, Jessica and Tamara, four great grandchildren, one sister, Julia Uhland of Hopewell Twp. and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
